1. Citing your college website with a known author

Citing a college website is required in many cases, when students want to refer their University works or information in their academic papers, during admissions or while presenting a seminar or symposium.

To cite a college website , the following entries are must to be entered in the reference list.

· Author or the organisation responsible for the site

· Title of source.

· Title of the website (specifically carrying your college/university’s name in italics)

· Other contributors (names and roles),

· Version,

· Number,

· Publisher- Your college online press, content creator

· Publication Date- The publication or the copyright date is usually found at the footer of your college website

· Location of the source (such as URL or page range).

When you are required to cite your college website whose author or content creator is known to you, you need to cite in the following format

Author’s Last Name,Author’s First Name. Title of the Website, Name of Organization linked with the Website (Your College/university’s name), Copyright date or last modification/updation date, URL. Accessed date.

When you are required to cite an article page or document of your college website whose author is known to you, you need to cite in the below format.

Author’s Last Name, Author’sFirst Name. “Title of the article or document Page” Title of the CollegeWebsite, Name of Organization linked with the Website(Your college/University’s name), Copyright date or last modification/updation date, URL. Accessed date.

In-Text Citation

(Author’s Surname, Year)

(Johnson & Becker, n.d.)

Name of Organization linked with the Website(Your College/University’s name), “Title of article or document Page” Title of the Website, URL. Accessed date.

Example:

In-Text Citation:(The College of William and Mary, Year, page or paragraph number [if available])

Example:(The College of William and Mary, n.d.)

Title of the Government Document: Add Subtitle if required . Add Edition if provided, Name of Government agency, department or committee, Date of Publication, URL. Accessed Date.

Author’s Last Name, Author’s First Name . “Blog Post Title” Name of Blog, Publisher( May be the University or the third party) if provided, Date of the blog post in DD-MM-YY format , Blog URL. Accessed date in DD-MM-YY format when the blog was read.

Well, referencing college website is not an ardous task if you know the basic format of referencing websites in MLA.
